Acupuncture
- Acupuncture is the method of treating patients by inserting long, sharp, thin needles into different parts of the body.
- The Han dynasty was first introduced to acupuncture in about 100-115 B.C.E. Not only was the Han dynasty one of the first era's to discover acupuncture, they also perfected it. They discovered that metal was a better resource than bone or stone to use in the needles.
- Some of the first models of metal needles were found in a tomb dating all the way back to 113 B.C.E.
- Acupuncture soon became popular and spread to different parts of ancient Asia such as Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan, and in later times, America.
